Torah Portion #14 - Vaera
This week's Torah Portion shows us the power of God to deliver. It's Vaera, “and I appeared”from Exodus 6. God gives Moses the four "I wills ‘. "I will bring you out. I will deliver you. I will redeem you. And I will restore you and take you as my own people." Wow. This looks forward to the Passover Seder, which would become tradition among Jewish people for centuries. And really those four cups correspond to each of those “I wills’. The cup of sanctification, the cup of deliverance, the cup of redemption, and the cup of praise or restoration. Now the third cup is the cup that Yeshua said, "This is my blood which is poured out." It's the cup of redemption. The fourth cup is the one that Yeshua said, "I will not drink this until I drink it with you in the kingdom." Because He's looking forward to that time spoken of Romans 11:26, when all Israel shall be saved.
