Torah Portion: V'Zot HaBerakhah – The Heart of God and the Secret of the Letters

Welcome to this week's study on the final portion of the Torah: V'Zot HaBerakhah ("And This Blessing"), found in Deuteronomy 33. As we close the scroll on the five books of Moses and prepare to begin anew with Bereshit ("In the Beginning"), there is a profound secret hidden within the very structure of Hebrew Scripture that reveals the Father’s true motivation for giving us His Word.

The Heart of God in the First and Last Letters

When you read through the Torah, consider how it opens and closes:

• The First Letter of the Torah: The Torah begins with the word Bereshit ("In the Beginning"), starting with the letter Bet (ב, the 'B' sound).
• The Final Letter of the Torah: The final passage in Deuteronomy concludes with the word Yisrael ("Israel"), ending with the letter Lamed (ל, the 'L' sound).

When you join these two bookend letters together—Lamed and Bet—they spell the Hebrew word LEV (לֵב), which means "Heart".

Out of His entire heart of love, God gave us His Holy Word. The Torah isn't merely a set of rules; it is a direct expression of the Creator's love for His people.

From Genesis to Revelation: Revealing the Son

This pattern carries even deeper when looking at the entirety of the Bible:

• If you begin at the start of Genesis (Bereshit – starting with Bet)
• And read all the way through to Revelation 22:21 (Amen – ending with Nun)
• Combining the initial Bet (ב) and the final Nun (נ) forms the word BEN (בֵּן), which is the Hebrew word for "Son".

From beginning to end, the complete Scriptures reveal that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Yeshua is the living Word, the Amen, and the ultimate truth.

Finding Truth Today
