Leaving the Mountain of Comfort and Embracing "Teshuvah"
Have you stayed on your "mountain" for too long?
In this week's video teaching, we begin the fifth and final book of the Torah: Devarim (the Hebrew word for "Words"), commonly known in English as Deuteronomy.
As Moses prepares the next generation of Israel to cross into the Promised Land, he doesn’t just recount history—he delivers a timeless spiritual blueprint for our lives today. One of the most urgent commands he shares from God is found in Deuteronomy 1:6:
"You have dwelt long enough on this mountain."
Many of us find ourselves circling the exact same mountain season after season. Whether it is a habit, a mindset, a past failure, or simply a season of comfort that has turned into stagnation, God is gently but firmly saying: It is time to move on.
The Apostle Paul and the Power of Teshuvah (Turning)
Transitioning into the new things God has for us requires what the Hebrew scriptures call Teshuvah—which literally means "turning."
In this message, we look at the radical transformation of the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus. As a deeply devoted, Torah-observant Jew, Paul’s encounter with Yeshua (Jesus) didn't wipe away his foundation; instead, he made a complete 180-degree turn. He yielded everything he had been taught to a life of active, living faith.
When we practice Teshuvah, we stop looking back at the mountains of our past and align our eyes with where God is moving next.
